Enhanced Enterprise Zone
To encourage investment and job creation, this incentive program offers local real estate property tax abatement and can provide saleable, refundable state tax credits to any company creating jobs and making investments within the boundaries of the enterprise zone. The Springfield Enhanced Enterprise Zones encompass large commercial and industrial property and sites available for development.
Springfield’s Enterprise Zone has been a leader in job creation and new business investment in the state. From 1984 to 2004, the zone facilitated $485.5 million of investment and resulted in the creation of 6,340 new jobs.
