Remanufacturer expands, adding 40 jobs and $11.6 million in capital investment by end of 2015

In 2011, agricultural and construction equipment remanufacturer CNH Reman announced an expansion that would create more than 250 jobs over the next five years; however, the Springfield, Missouri, company has grown faster than expected. A joint venture between Case New Holland and Springfield Remanufacturing Corporation, CNH Reman is already in the midst of an expansion that will create 40 jobs over the next 12 months with a planned capital expenditure of $11.6 million by the end of 2015. Additionally, the company is already making plans for future growth and investment for its Springfield operation.

The Springfield, Missouri, Region offers a one-stop shop to assist businesses with accessing state, local, and energy programs, bundling them into one easy package. With the help of the Springfield Regional Economic Partnership, CNH Reman was able to access and benefit from Missouri saleable and refundable tax credits, local energy rate deductions via the City Utilities Community Economic Development Rider, and job training programs provided by the local community college.

“The direction and guidance provided by Springfield’s partnership staff has been very helpful to our company and assisted in our growth,” said Tom Hilmes, CNH Reman general manager.

CNH Reman’s continued growth reflects the strong local economy of Springfield and the strength of the local manufacturing workforce as a whole. The quality of the production workforce and low cost of doing business in Springfield, Missouri, has led CNH Reman and other notable manufacturers, including Kraft Foods and Paul Mueller Company, to substantial growth opportunities in this region over the past year. In fact, manufacturing employment in Springfield has grown by 11.4% since the low point of the recession.
