Labor Force
- Almost 7,000 new jobs were created in the metro area over the past five years.
- The bulk of these new jobs are in the professional services, manufacturing, and health care sectors.
- Unemployment steadily declined to around 2.0% — down from 9.9% during the pandemic.
- 90% of the counties in the Springfield Region are currently pursuing the Certified Work Ready Community status.
