PROFormance Powertrain Products announces expansion in Springfield; 131 new jobs
| 14 years agoPROFormance Powertrain Products, a subsidiary of LKQ Corporation, announced plans to expand its engine remanufacturing production facility in Springfield. Once completed, the facility will add 131 new jobs to PROFormance’s existing workforce of 100 employees. The company expects wages for the jobs created to be above the county average of $33,924 and will include a comprehensive benefits package.
In addition, the Springfield community will benefit from the company’s anticipated capital investment of $1.7 million with the purchase of new machinery and equipment purchases required to complete the expansion.
“We are pleased to have been able to assist PROFormance Powertrain expand in the community,” said Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce President Jim Anderson. “Our community is privileged to have such a strong manufacturing base and we are excited to see manufacturing continue to grow.”
“LKQ is very excited about expanding PROFormance’s production capabilities and adding to our existing workforce in Springfield, it’s truly a win-win for our company and for the local community,” said LKQ’s Director of Investor Relations Joseph Boutross.
The hiring of new PROFormance Powertrain employees for the expansion is planned to start by the end of the second quarter of 2011. The company will receive workforce training assistance from Ozarks Technical Community College.
PROFormance Powertrain has been in Springfield since 1959 and ships over 1,000 remanufactured engines and transmissions each month to professional parts distributors and installer customers throughout North America.
